Robert Gottschalk was born on October 8, 1932, in Fort Atkinson, WI, to Julius Gottschalk and Mary (n?e Rusch) Gottschalk. Bob served in the United States Air Force, and worked on the Northwestern railroad until his marriage to the former Joyce Rohloff Scher on December 27, 1969. Joyce brought to the marriage her son, David, and three daughters, Mary, Jean, and Cindy. Robert and Joyce later went on to have an additional son, Thomas. As per her plan, she passed away at home in the comfortable environs of the house she maintained for over 64 years. She was born Marion Ida Ruehlow to Ortwin and Verona (nee Knuth) Ruehlow on October 7th, 1932 in the town of Emmet, in the family farmhouse.
