Pressing " Cmd" related functions on iPad Pro magic keyboard seems to crashes the sidecar. Anyone else have this problem? The problem seems to reduce to tad annoyance when I using direct connection (via USB C) where the sidecar reconnects to my iPad Pro with 2-3 seconds delay as compared to previous crashing.

Greetings, Eltonxb.
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We can understand why you’d want to resolve the issue with using the Command⌘Key and SideCar crashing.
When you are tapping the Command Key, are you trying to use any of these commands?
“Most iPad keyboard shortcuts use the Command ⌘key, like on a Mac. If you're more familiar with a PC keyboard, the Command ⌘ key does the same thing as the Control key on a PC.
Here are some common keyboard shortcuts:
- Command-H: Go to the Home screen.
- Command-Space bar:Show or hide theSearchfield.
- Command-Tab:Switchto the next most recently used app among your open apps.
- Command-Shift-3: Take a screenshot.
- Command-Shift-4: Take a screenshot and immediatelyopen Markupto view or edit it.
- Command-Option-D: Show or hide the Dock.”Learn iPad keyboard shortcuts
If so, does it happen if you press the other key before pressing the Command Key?
Also, please ensure that you’ve updated iPadOS 15.0.1:About iPadOS 15 Updates
We hope this helps! Thanks for being a part of the community.
Sincerely.

- sidecar crash with smart keyboard when using "cmd"+"B"/"I", etc. I use my iPad Pro and Smart Keyboard via sidecar to control my MacBook. It works well for the most part but whenever I use the keyboard cmd for bold or underline, sidecar crashes. I see other people has the same problem but didn't see any useful respond. I assume it is a shortcut of some sort for the iPad to quit the sidecar mode? How can I change that? It is quite annoying now. 5874

Hey there,Eltonxb.
Thanks for getting back to us. To clarify, does the keyboard work as expected with the exception of “CMD+A”?
Do you have any customized keyboard shortcuts showing?
“Customize keyboard shortcuts
- Open Settings, then tap Accessibility.
- Tap Keyboards.
- Tap Full Keyboard Access and turn it on.
- Tap Commands.
- Tap a command, then press a custom key combination to assign to it.
- Tap Done.”Learn iPad keyboard shortcuts
If not, what happens if you try to assign a shortcut of CMD+A?
Warmly.

I am having this issue as well, any CMD shortcuts just lock the screen and disconnects sidecar from the iPad and Macbook. Everything is the latest version, just bought this iPad with Magic Keyboard 2 weeks ago.
I code so I heavily use those shortcuts with the Magic Keyboard without thinking so it locks out frequently. A fix for this would be amazing, even just an option to disable native iPad shortcuts while in Sidecar. I see this issue frequently in the forums so its definitely a problem that needs to be addressed.
Thanks.

Hi Eric~F,
actually I tried the following:
1) cmd+a -to select all
2) cmd+c - to copy
3) cmd+v - to paste
all the above key combinations causes iPad to disconnect from sidecar, and display the locked screen.
the iOS is definitely 15 but not sure whether it’s the latest though, will check on this .

The keyboard work as expected in sidecar mode. Actually cmd+A (select all) function works, just that the iPad Pro’s Lock Screen came up and disconnect from my Mac at the same time.
Not sure what you meant by the rest though.
