Hello,

I'm using macbook OS Monterey 12.5 connecting with magic keyboard 2, there are no problem until yesterday :

I type on magic keyboard: command + V (left cmd button on magic keyboard ) for paste function but it change to cmd + m, minisize the window which i'm working on. If i type command + v ( right cmd button on magic keyboard , it's still be paste function. I type cmd + v with left or right button on macbook keyboard, it's still be paste function.

So the problem is when i type cmd + v with left button cmd on magic keyboard on an apps , it'll be know as minisize app like cmd + m , not the paste function like before.

But if i type same thing, type cmd + v with left button cmd on magic keyboard on spotlight search , it's still be paste function

I check my magic keyboard onhttps://en.key-test.rualready. There are not thing wrong with all button on magic keyboard.

Please help to resolve my issue, thank

First, there is no reason to ever install or run any 3rd party "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus, VPN or security apps on your Mac. This user tip describes what you need to know and do in order to protect your Mac: Effective defenses against malware and other threats - Apple Community.

There are no known viruses, i.e. self propagating, for Macs. There are, however, adware and malware which require the user to install although unwittingly most of the time thru sneaky links, etc.

Anti Virus developers try to group all types as viruses into their ad campaigns of fear. They do a poor job of the detecting and isolating the adware and malware. Since there are no viruses these apps use up a lot of system resources searching for what is non-existent and adversely affect system and app performance.

There is one app, Malwarebytes, which was developed by a long time contributor to these forums and a highly respected member of the computer security community, that is designed solely to seek out adware and known malware and remove it. The free version is more than adequate for most users.

That being said you've install what many of the users here in these forums consider to be akin to malware: CleanMyMac. Uninstall it according to the developer's instructions.

Also do the following:

1 - Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support (for Intel Macs) and Mac startup key combinations - Apple Support (for both types)

2 - How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

Much has already been mentioned by contributor @Old Toad.

Just to impress upon the nature if CleanMyMac and what is does do and may have already done.

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS, is an invitation for disaster and comprising the Operating System

Certain Applications maybe available on the Apple Apps Store - this only means the Developer is prepared to pay Apple a portion on each sale. What the Application may do to the computer is up to the User to check this out before purchase

Any of the below should be removed as per Developers Instructions

This will include CleanMyMac and do suggest reading some of the may posting specific to this Application then arrive at your own conclusions.

Specific to CleanMyMac - even after it is removed by the Developers Specific Instructions - it may or may not required booting into Recovery Mode and choosing to Reinstall macOS.

This is to put back any corrupted or damages elements of the Operating System this application has inflicted on the computer

VPNs - questionable at best.

Commercial VPNs should only be used if Mandated by Corporate Head Office for working remotely. Otherwise - ones Privacy and Security touted by the VPN is suspect

i removed cleanmymac already . When my macbook be slow because i open too much apps and many tab in safari, how can i free up ram without cleanmymac, which function got really convenient

You do not need to Free up RAM.

RAM is Random Access Memory and the Operating System manages this.

It will put into RAM processes and Applications as needed and remove from RAM when it is not needed any longer.

Now, if you are talking about the Amount of Empty Space on the Internal Drive that is a very different matter.

That is where it appears the Use ( you ) believes CleanMyMac makes space on the drive - right ?

If the Drive is getting full there are ways to deal with this But Not by using CleanMyMac or any other Cleaning or Optimizing application.

Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac

What is “Other” storage on a Mac, and how can I clean it out?

Free up storage space on your Mac

OmniDiskSweeper Safe to use

GrandPerspective

How to delete Time Machine snapshots on your Mac

See used and available storage space on your Mac

Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

The final word from Apple on Managing the " Other/ System Data “ Category

Other / System Data:Contains files that don’t fall into the categories listed here. This category primarily includes files and data used by the system, such as log files, caches, VM files, and other runtime system resources. Also included are temporary files, fonts, app support files, and plug-ins. You can't manage the contents of this category. The contents are managed by macOS, and the category varies in size depending on the current state of your Mac.

As was mentioned earlier - same keyboard on same version of Monterey and can not reproduce this issue.

The Keyboard Combinations Cmd c and Cmd v are Basic Default Keyboard Combinations since I started on Apple Computer in about 2003 with OS X 10.4 Tiger on a Motorola PPC

Understand, we are all working Remotely from all around the world.

Therefore, we do not have the On-Hands experience the User ( you ) has with this computer.

The next best thing for us to having a semi - actual On-Hand experience with this computer is to follow the steps below

Download the Application Etrecheck directly from the Developer.

The application is free or paid from added features.

It will take a Snap Shot - both the hardware and software.

The Report will Not Reveal Any Personal Information.

Post back the Full Report - copy and paste - using the Additional Text Icon ( 3rd Icon to last )

We can have a look at the report for possible issues and may have possible suggestions to resolve the issues

Open Mission Control System Preferences and look at the hot keys. It sounds like you have one of the hot keys set for left cmd to show desktop. Clear that setting or change it to another key—default is something like F11.

That is great thanks to @Barney-15E - Your main issue is revolved

Though, in good conscience - the Etrecheck Report does bring some other issues to light.

If you desire, can further analysis the Report and offer additional insight outside of the Keyboard issue

Shall wait your decision

Just a quick note on RAM, as you are in good hand with other fellow contributors’ solid advice.

There is never a reason to try and “clear memory” in macOS. The OS actually tries to keep most of the RAM in use at all times. It will compress parts that are not in use, keep recently use files cached in RAM for quick access, and when necessary it will swap out some to the storage. Since OS X 10.9 Mavericks, purging or cleaning memory actually DECREASES performance. Let the OS manage it.

My guess is that brick my Mac takes another victim. You probably need to completely erase, reinstall the OS, and then migrate your use your data.

just removing it may not remove the damage it has done.

Set Show Desktop to something.

It’s confused at the moment. Changing it may fix the confusion. You can probably then set it back to none
